Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Named for the country's founding father, the Grand Mosque holds 41,000 worshippers, features 82 domes clad in Macedonian marble, and contains a single-piece Iranian carpet of 5,700 m² — the world's largest. Its evening illumination is calibrated to the phases of the moon.
Visitor Tip
Arrive at 4:30pm to enjoy daylight, sunset and the illuminated mosque in one visit. Modest dress essential; abayas provided.
