Zaya Nurai Island

Zaya Nurai Island is Abu Dhabi's private-island escape — a fifteen-minute speedboat ride from the mainland to a hand-crafted Robinson-Crusoe fantasy of powder-white sand, coral reef and 32 pool villas set among frangipani gardens. There is no through traffic, no day-guests, no towers: the entire island is the resort. Villa categories range from Beach and Water Villas through Two-, Three- and Four-Bedroom Estates and the flagship Empire Villa, each with private pool, outdoor rain shower, indoor-outdoor living pavilion and butler service. Interiors are relaxed rather than formal: bleached timbers, natural linens, driftwood furniture and hand-painted local ceramics. Dining runs across six distinct venues — Dusk for coastal-Mediterranean, Smokin' Pineapple for Caribbean, Frangipani for Peruvian-Japanese, Hooked for the freshest seafood, Levant for Middle-Eastern, and The Beach House for laid-back barefoot grazing. Zoya Spa occupies an over-water pavilion with couples' treatment rooms, hammam and yoga deck; the beach club, dive centre, watersports jetty and PADI-certified reef diving fill the days. Families with older children love the private villa configurations, kayaking and turtle programme; honeymooners take the water villas or the Empire Estate. Meetings and small weddings are handled with genuine bespoke care. From arrival at Saadiyat marina jetty, the boat transfer to the island itself sets the tone: everything else is left behind.
