Premium Desert Safari

The desert is the natural counterpart to Dubai's skyline, and this premium safari is designed to give guests a rewarding half-day inside the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve — or a comparable private concession, depending on schedule. The experience is fully private, with a dedicated 4x4, driver-guide and reserved seating at the evening camp.

Afternoon: Guests are collected from their hotel in the mid-to-late afternoon and driven to the reserve entrance, roughly 45–60 minutes from central Dubai. At the transition point, tyre pressure is lowered for dune driving and the drive into the desert begins. The route is planned by the driver-guide to combine higher ridge crossings with gentler dune runs, so the experience is memorable without becoming aggressive. Guests can request a calmer drive at any time.

Photography stops are built into the route, and a longer stop is scheduled at the highest point in the reserve so guests can see the desert in full sunset light — one of the most photogenic moments of any trip to the UAE.

Evening: The safari continues to a Bedouin-style camp. On arrival, guests are welcomed with Arabic coffee, dates and traditional refreshments, and can experience: • A short camel introduction and photo opportunity • Falconry displays where scheduled • Henna painting • Sandboarding on gentle dunes near the camp

Dinner is served buffet-style and includes Arabic mezze, salads, grilled meats and seafood, vegetarian options, warm mains and desserts. Soft drinks and water are included; selected alcoholic drinks and shisha are available on request. Entertainment typically features live music, a traditional dance segment and a stargazing moment away from the camp lights.

Return to Dubai: Guests are driven back to their hotel at their preferred pace, usually arriving around 22:00–22:30. Return timings can be adjusted for guests with early morning commitments.

Guests can expect: A private vehicle throughout, an English-speaking driver-guide, reserved seating at the camp rather than shared long tables where possible, and an experience that balances activity with time to sit and take in the environment.

Best suited for: Couples, families with children old enough to enjoy dune driving comfortably, and small groups looking for a signature Arabian evening. Guests prone to motion sickness should request a gentler drive at booking.

What to wear and bring: Long, loose clothing that covers legs and shoulders for the camp; comfortable closed shoes for walking on sand; a light layer for the cooler post-sunset hours; and sunglasses and sunscreen for the drive.
