Overview
The story
The RAK Hajar has more accessible mountain country than any other emirate, but most of it is invisible from the main roads. This full-day 4x4 trip runs from central RAK up into Wadi Bih, along the graded track towards Ru'us Al Jibal, and through a chain of small stone villages that most guests do not know exist. Your driver is a licensed mountain guide with a Land Cruiser V8 rigged for the terrain — recovery kit, radio, spare fuel. You stop for the ridge photos, walk a short section of an abandoned falaj irrigation channel, and eat a packed lunch at a natural viewpoint above the coastal plain. Not suitable for guests with back trouble; the graded sections are rough.
