Overview
The story
The Ras Al Khaimah desert is quieter than Dubai's. There are no other camps in view, no city lights on the horizon, and the dunes sit against the Hajar mountains rather than a highway. Our safari picks you up in a private 4x4, does about 40 minutes of measured dune driving through the RAK desert conservation reserve, stops for camels and photos as the light turns, then drops you at a Bedouin-style camp for a proper coal-grilled dinner. Live oud, henna, shisha and stargazing are on offer but never pushed. Vehicles are Toyota Land Cruiser V8s with trained safari drivers; families with young children or guests who prefer a gentler ride can request a scenic desert drive instead of dune-bashing.
